  • Parenting consultant — Resolving parenting issues with a neutral who will first facilitate discussions between the parents toward agreement and if no agreement is reached, will decide the issues.

Personal Attention And Thoughtful, Client-Driven Solutions

Effective family lawyers have good people skills, which benefit the client and the case.

In most family law cases, clients struggle with waves of emotions, changes to their daily life and lots of new legal information. I prefer for my clients to be moving past those initial disruptions toward thoughtful, well-informed decision-making before they have to make final decisions about their cases. Client readiness to move ahead is a key factor in most family law cases, and this must be assessed on a case-by-case basis. I communicate with clients regularly about case status and possible options for resolving daily issues as well as final resolution.

People skills are also important for analyzing issues in the case such as impact of domestic abuse, parenting skills, potential for post-decree conflict, and for working with opposing clients and their attorneys, and other professionals who might be involved in developing and resolving a family law matter.

In my office, I consider the people skills that might be needed in your case and set strategies for working with any challenges in that aspect of your case.
